Patriotism is more than setting off fireworks and taking the day off.
It's about believing in the country your were ancestors taken to. Well, stolen and taken to.
The relationship I have with this place is a strange one. As we approach July 4th, I begin to question all the reasons why I love this country.
"You should know that your money and your children are a test, and that God possesses a great recompense. O you who believe, if you reverence God, He will enlighten you, remit your sins, and forgive you. GOD possesses infinite grace."
